Start With Why

So here it is, my first blog post.

I thought I’d start off with Why I’m doing this,  being inspired by the excellent Ted Talk from Simon Sinek that I’ll post below.

The Why is really a case of having somewhere to express my thoughts and feelings and also to share some of the realisations I’ve had over the past couple of years around personal finance, early retirement and my plans. I’ll delve into this all through multiple posts moving forward.

A blog will also act as accountability and I want to commit to providing updates to make sure I’m on the right track – publically (sort of)  committing to something definitely gives you an extra impetus.

So, what will I be accountable for? Well, I am a 28-year-old Londoner in a well-paid office job who seeks financial freedom. I’m far away from that goal, but have, in my opinion, laid out some good foundations over the past year. I wish to share some of these insights and engage with like-minded individuals to accelerate knowledge on how to get to my desired goal more quickly.

I’d like to invite you on my journey and hopefully, you can benefit from this as much as me.

That’s pretty much it for the first post, a quick introduction about me and what I wish to achieve, I’m hoping to post 2-3 times per week with updates and as I create more and more content, I’ll group things together into some kind of order.

One final point – here’s the Simon Sinek video I mentioned earlier, it’s a great watch and I believe whilst it’s in a specific context it is analogous to many other parts of life and can be an incredibly valuable mindset shift. Enjoy.
